What are System Events?

Coming over from Classic? Events, including System Events, replace behavior tags

Events are a valuable tool in Lucky Orange, allowing you to keep an eye on specific engagements, activity, links, elements and more. You can set up your own custom Events. To make things easier, we’ve preloaded System Events for you to use right out of the box.

These System Events are ready to go from the moment you set up and activate your Lucky Orange Account. Through System Events, you can identify:

  • Visitor behavior signals, such as a rage click or shaky mouse
  • Feature interactions, such as participation in a Chat or Announcement
  • Internal Events, such as session created or recording started
  • Page Speed Events, such as largest contentful paint or cumulative layout shift

System Events directory: Page Speed Metrics

These are core web vitals that measure how quickly a web page loads and becomes interactive for users. You will see these appear on the Event timeline in Session Recordings as they occur, such as then the First Contentful Paint, was completed.

System Event Explanation
First Contentful Paint (FCP) FCP shows how long it takes for the first text or image on a web page to load and appear on the screen.
Largest Contentful Paint (LCP) LCP indicates how long it takes for the biggest text or image on a web page to load and appear on the screen.
Interaction to Next Paint (INP) INP measures how responsive a web page is by looking at all the actions users take on it. It takes the longest recorded interaction and ignores any unusual results that might skew the average.
Cumulative Layout Shift (CLS) CLS tracks how often things on the page suddenly move around while you're viewing it, which can happen when visible elements change position from one moment to the next.
