How to use Discovery

In this help document, learn more about Lucky Orange’s new Discovery feature and how it can help you uncover more information about people who visit your website.

What is Discovery?

Lucky Orange Discovery is a new way to find answers to your most pressing website conversion questions—without the need for a deep understanding of where to find the information in Lucky Orange.

Within Discovery, you’ll see a series of Optimization Opportunities that can help you Using Discovery, Lucky Orange users can quickly spot where visitors struggle or what may have stopped them from converting. 

Optimization Opportunities include:

  • Show me what people who had a frustrating experience did on my site
  • Show me what people who may have encountered a technical issue did on my site
  • Show me what people liked most about my site

How to use Discovery

Use the image above to follow along. 

  1. Click Discovery. This is available across the app and can be used in every feature. 
  2. Select an Optimization Opportunity. We’ve already preloaded Optimization Opportunities to help you jump right into the visitor behavior you want to see. Click between these choices at any time.
  3. View Prompt Parameters. Once an Optimization Opportunity is selected, we populate the Prompt Parameters. This includes actionable tips to show you what to look for and the information you’re about to access.
  4. Preview the parameters. These parameters start to paint the picture of the information you’ll see  based on your selection. 
    1. Feature destination: Where you’ll go to find the information
    2. Segment: This is the group of filters that identify visitors. It isn’t available for all Optimization Opportunities.
    3. Filters: These narrow down the visitors. It isn’t available for all Optimization Opportunities.
    4. Only view online visitors: Refine the visitors to see only those who are online. It isn’t available for all Optimization Opportunities.
  5. Click Discover to go to the section of Lucky Orange where you can see these visitor behaviors.

How do I open or close Discovery?

To open Discovery, click on the Discovery button at the top of your app. This is available across the app and can be accessed at any time.

To return where you left off, click the “ Back to” button that will include the feature you were last interacting with or use the left navigation to move to a new feature. Both will close Discovery. 

Discovery will show your last selected Optimization Opportunity. To remove the Optimization Opportunity, select a new choice or refresh the page.
