How to transfer account ownership

In this article:

What does transferring account ownership do?

By default, an account owner is the person or email address who initially setup the account. While Lucky Orange accounts may have multiple admins, creators or members, it can only have one Owner. When looking at Settings to see your list of sites, you’ll see a crown that designates you as the account owner:

Business changes, life events and other situations may require a change to the ownership of your Lucky Orange account, such as:

  • Previous account owner leaving the department or company
  • Leave of absence for the account owner
  • New employee
  • Corporate restructuring
  • Agency involvement

By transferring ownership, the new account owner has admin permissions as well as distinct account owner permissions that include:

  • Access team Chat logs, ratings and feedback
  • Add members, manage teams and revise roles
  • Update site and account information

Click here for a look at all roles and permissions.

Pro tip: The ownership transfer can be temporary and changed as needed.

Does transferring account ownership transfer billing too?

Transferring account ownership only applies to management capabilities related to the site and account, as we mentioned above. Transferring account ownership doesn’t transfer the billing subscription or billing details.
