Starting your Lucky Orange account: An onboarding overview

Interested in opening a Lucky Orange account? Here’s the scoop. Creating a Lucky Orange account is easy, fast and doesn’t require a credit card. Keep reading for a deeper look at our onboarding process.

Step 1: Start with the basics 

Begin by entering your name, email address and password into the provided fields. Read and agree to our terms of conditions and privacy statement to continue through the onboarding process. 

To make your password super top secret, we’ve added a few requirements that include:

  • Minimum of 8 characters; maximum of 100 characters 
  • At least 1 special character
  • At least 1 lowercase character
  • At least 1 uppercase character

Note: Remember - there’s no need to share passwords. With unlimited members for each plan, you can add as many team members as you want to add. Everyone can get their own log-in, role and permissions.

You can also change this password at any time:

  1. Navigate to Settings from the left navigation
  2. Select Personal Information 
  3. Click Change Password, located at the bottom of your screen 
  4. Enter in your current password (or click Forgot your password if you can’t remember it)
  5. Type in your new password
  6. Select Save

Step 2: Tell us what you will be tracking with Lucky Orange

Use the drop-down to select from:

  • I’ll be optimizing a site for my company
  • I’ll be optimizing a site for my clients
  • I’ll be optimizing a site my personal site

Note: If you skip this step, you won’t be able to provide this information at a later time within the app. 

Step 3: Give us the name of your organization

It’s simple and straight to the point. You can change this within the app:

  1. Navigate to Settings from the left navigation
  2. Select Sites
  3. Click View Details to the right of the site you want to update
  4. Hover over the site name to click on the pencil
  5. Change as needed and select Save

Step 4: Let us know how many people work at your company

Select from options in the drop down with the following options:

  • 1 to 5 members
  • 6 to 12 members
  • 13 to 25 members
  • 26 to 50 members
  • 51+ members

Pro tip: All Lucky Orange plans include unlimited members which means you can add as many teammates as you would like with no extra cost.Click here to learn more about adding team members and setting the member roles and permissions. 

Step 5: Select your primary role or input your own if your role isn’t listed 

This step will help us curate specific tips, tricks and information in an upcoming feature. You won’t be able to modify your selection within Lucky Orange at this time. 

Step 6: Tell us what you want to do first in Lucky Orange

Based on your role within your organization, we highlight the top 4 features you may be most interested in. This will change depending on what role you selected.

Step 7: Almost there! Tell us the URL that you’ll be using with Lucky Orange

Don’t worry - you can also add this later from within Settings: 

  1. Click on Settings from the left navigation
  2. Select Sites
  3. Click View Details to the right of the site you want to update
  4. Hover over the site URL to click on the pencil
  5. Change as needed and select Save

Step 8: Wrap it up with your tracking code

Copy your tracking code here to add to your site. You can also find it in Settings:

  1. Navigate to Settings from the left navigation
  2. Select Sites
  3. Click View Details to the right of the site you want to update
  4. Under your tracking code, click Copy Snippet to copy the code to add to your site.
