Who can make an Event?
Who can and can’t make an Event is based on the permissions of your team members:
Role | Permission to create Events? |
Account Owner | Yes |
Admin | Yes |
Creator | Yes |
Member | No |
Is there a limit to the number of Events I can add?
There is no limit to the number of Events or Key Events you can add. While we encourage avoiding duplicate Events, there is no limitation to a maximum number of Events that can be added.
Should all of my Events be marked as Key Events?
No, we don’t advise marking all Events as Key Events . Key Events work best for the events that you want to keep a closer eye on.
Think of your website like a good book. If you wanted to remember specific parts of that book, you would highlight certain portions of the text to jump to later. However, if you were to highlight the entire book, the benefits of using the highlighter would be lost because it would be hard to pick out the passages you wanted to remember.
In our case, Key Events are like the highlighter. Use Key events for those events that are most interesting to your business (e.g., add to cart), impact your customers (e.g., rage click) or are specific to a campaign or department (e.g., UTM parameter).
Do I need to add a URL-based Events for all of my pages?
No, you don’t need to create an Events for each of your pages.
Our system automatically provides this information that can be used to filter your Visitors’ Table, segment your Heatmap, monitor from your Dashboard and trigger Surveys, Chat Invites and Announcements.
