Introducing Surveys (video tour)
Found within the Communication section, Surveys are a valuable tool for identifying customer preferences and needs.
Let's walk through the basics of creating and managing Surveys
Survey basics
Lucky Orange offers several Survey types to help you get the specific information you are looking for.
Your Survey name helps keep track of Surveys internally.
Creating Surveys: Questions & Content
Each Survey type has an easy-to-use builder, along with a live preview of the Survey on the right.
If you want to give visitors the opportunity to provide supplementary feedback just toggle on allow additional feedback, which will show as a follow-up question after the initial Survey has been completed.
Alternatively, if you want to wrap up the Survey with a link for something such as more information about your product or service, toggle on "Add Button Link" and add your label and url.
Once everything looks good, move to the next step.
Creating Surveys: Triggers
Triggers give you the power to display your Survey at the right time and place. For example, this question is more relevant to visitors browsing the jeans section. If you show the Survey only on pages in the jeans section, you’ll most likely get a higher response rate with more meaningful input.
You can also add a scroll trigger so the Survey will display once the visitor has shown they’re interested in the content by scrolling down the page.
Keep things simple within the basic triggers, or get as specific as you want within the advanced trigger builder.
Once you’ve set your triggers, click the Next Step button to move on to Delivery.
Creating Surveys: Delivery
Here you can decide how long the Survey will be displayed on your site. For this example, we’d like to collect responses for a week.
Now let's move on to Review.
Creating Surveys: Review & Launch
The Review step provides a summary of how your Survey will behave along with a preview of what it will look like.
From here you can either Save it for later or hit Launch to make it live on your site.
Once a Survey has been created, you can manage it in the Survey table.
Using the Surveys table
The status will let you know if it's currently active, paused, incomplete, ready for launch, or has ended. (try to show examples of all the statuses)
View Results to see how things are shaping up.
Reviewing Survey results
The summary tab provides your engagement stats along with a breakdown of results. This is the extent of data you’ll get with most Survey tools. But with Lucky Orange session recordings, you can drill down to the visitors who may have reported a poor experience, and then go watch their session to learn the "why" behind the rating.
Any additional feedback left by visitors will display here. Again, with the ability to quickly view the recording.
To double check your setup, you can view the settings tab and if needed, make any updates.
To help track Survey results, we recommend adding a Surveys card to your dashboard. This also provides a direct link right to your Survey results.
