How to use teams

As more people within your organization have access to Lucky Orange, you may need a way to organize access and allow for quick communication.

You can do this by setting up teams

What are teams?

Teams operate much like groups. By defining team members by department or function, it’s easier to communicate and collaborate across the team and control overall access to public-facing activities such as chat.

For example:

  • In sending a direct message to another team member, someone on the marketing team can search for their team members for faster messaging
  • Navigate to Settings and click on Teams to see other members of your team. Once you’re on your team page, click on View Details to message the team member directly or see other information quickly, such as an email address.
  • If a specific team likely won’t need to interact with customers - like marketing or design - you can remove public-facing access to eliminate the risk of someone on the team accidentally activating chat

How to create a team

Teams can be created by account owners, admins and creators.

  1. Navigate to Settings
  2. Click on Teams
  3. Select the purple Create Team button
  4. Choose one of the team suggestions or use Custom to create your own
  5. Decide if this team is public facing. If the team isn’t public-facing, the operators won’t be available to chat regardless of their permissions.
  6. Use the drop-down to select at least one team leader
  7. Use the drop-down to add additional members
  8. When finished, click the purple Done button

How to revise a team

Once a team is created, you can use the team page to:

  • Add a teammate: Located under the team lead on the left side of the screen, click the gray Add Teammate button.
  • Delete team members: Click the View Details button to the right of a team member. At the bottom of the window, select Remove from Team
  • Toggle its public-facing status: Click the toggle to the right of Pubic Facing
  • Edit the team name: Click the action menu, displayed as three stacked dots located by the team name. Select Edit Name
  • Delete the team: Click the action menu and select Delete Team
